In Madrid, a drunken robber took hostages

The robber has already been arrested and the hostages freed.

Long had to persuade the attacker, who this morning broke into one of the branches of banking group Bankia in Madrid’s Usera district and took hostages. All customers of the Bank released, but the robber, on the contrary, arrested, reports the Spanish El Pais.

Before entering to the branch of Bankia on the street Dolores Barranco near the municipal Council and police sections, the attacker ordered a glass of rum at a bar nearby. According to the waitress, he about 60, he has bright eyes and white beard. A man is wearing a military jacket. First, the client refused to sell strong drink, because he was drunk, but then still agreed. Drinking a glass of rum and sipped the water, the offender went to work.

He entered the Bank around 9:50 am Madrid time and began to threaten with a gun to the Manager, demanding to give him a certain amount. However, once the desired “soldier” had left the branch, and took in hostages of three employees of the Department.

The area adjacent to the Bank was completely blocked, and to negotiate with the robber moved the police “Group XII”, which specializiruetsya in such cases. About half an hour later, the attacker agreed to surrender. His motives are still unknown. The neighborhood returned to normal. No one was hurt.
