The speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas commented on relations with Russia.
The position of Lithuania in relation to Russia will not change as long as Moscow demonstrates aggressive policy towards Ukraine. This was stated on Wednesday, January 3, speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas, Viktoras Pranckietis in an interview with radio station Ziniu radijas.
“The trade relations we have implemented, diplomatic relations, to abandon the values we have neither the capacity nor the desire. Further still, as the President said (Lithuania), no change in Russia’s position or leadership, cannot hope for changes in relations”, – said Pranckietis.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Swarnali called the policy of isolation pursued by his country, profitable and unique in the European Union.
According to Skarnales to the resumption of relations should be approached pragmatically, but at the same time you cannot abandon strategic positions in Ukraine.
