It will be the largest simultaneous reading of Shevchenko in history.
In the Park of Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv on 9 March at 15:30, the birthday of the poet will be held flash mob “Global Shevchenko”. Hundreds of Kiev at the same time will read the poem “In kazemat” (Meni odnakovo, Chi will…). This was announced by the organizers on the event’s page in Facebook.
The flash mob “Global Shevchenko” has joined more than 3500 participants from 25 countries and 132 towns of Ukraine. The goal of the protest was to honor the memory of the great poet, showing him monuments installed around the world.
It is reported that similar events will be held in Riga, Odessa, Mariupol, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kherson, Chernivtsi and other cities. It will be the largest simultaneous reading of Shevchenko in history.
