Kiev city Council intends to ban travelling circus tent in the capital.
This is stated in the agenda of the Council meeting on 5 October.
In the draft decision indicated that in traveling circuses violated rules on the treatment of animals, animals are often deprived of normal conditions.
Provided that the content of wild animals in captivity is only allowed with the authorization granted by the Ministry of environment.
The State ecological inspection of Kiev during inspections always records from a visiting circus tent lack of permits for the use of wild animals.
In addition, the law of Ukraine “On protection animals from brutal treatment” prohibits the provision of mobile zoos and training animals with the use of violence, but it does not prohibit the operation of a mobile circus tent.
The draft decision proposes to recommend to the parks Department, Kyiv city state administration not to issue permits for the placement of the circus tent.
Also in the agenda, submitted a draft concerning the regulation of content and behaviour with dogs and cats in Kiev.
MPs propose to prohibit the walking of pet dogs and cats in the territories of the social housing infrastructure of the capital, namely in schools, kindergartens, clinics, hospitals.
The draft decision is intended to increase the safety of visitors, as animals are often “scare and attack the patients of medical institutions, children”.
In addition, the city Council intends to ask the Verkhovna Rada to amend the law on the National police, complementing it with the establishment clause of topolinyy.
