Development of the reconstruction project will cost 6 million.
Capital funicular is scheduled to close for major renovations. Work can start in July next year and finish next year. As reported in “Kyivpastrans”, the last time a major overhaul of the cable car were more than 30 years ago, in 1986.
According to General Director of “Kyivpastrans” Dmitry Levchenko, the funicular is in need of repair the upper and lower stations, obsolete routes, which move cars. Also do not rule out the enterprise and replace themselves funicular carriages to more modern.
“This year KP “Kyivpastrans”, funds were allocated for feasibility study and design works on the reconstruction of the funicular,” — said Levchenko. The tender 10 may already have chosen a company that will develop the reconstruction project for 6.2 million.
“The results of the study will be clear what funds are necessary for the reconstruction. We will submit these documents to the KSCA, the issue will be discussed at the committees and will submit for session of Kyiv city Council. And if the deputies will allocate the required amount for the next year, reconstruction will begin no later than August 2018 and will last for a year”, — explained the “Today” CEO “Kyivpastrans.”
This year, the cable car will close from late July to mid-August for annual scheduled maintenance. By the way, Saturday is finally open updated 100-year-old Kiev cycle track on St. Lipinski.
