In Kiev summed up the results of the “Rapid Trident-2017”

Ended multinational exercises.

Today, September 22, at the International centre for peacekeeping and security of the National Academy of ground forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny ended the Ukrainian-American command post exercise involving troops “Rapid Trident – 2017” (Rapid Trident 2017).

Addressing the participants of the exercise, co-Director from the Ukrainian side, Colonel Sergey Litvinov noted that thanks to friendly relations with foreign partners soldiers armed forces of Ukraine have the opportunity to improve their skills on the best world standards and to share your own combat experience.

Co-Director of training from U.S. army Colonel David Jordan, in turn, thanked all the participants of the “Rapid Trident – 2017” for their active participation and significant contribution to the development of partnerships between the armies of the countries participating in the exercise.

We will remind, this year in military exercise “Rapid Trident – 2017” was attended by around 2,500 military personnel from 15 countries. In addition to Ukraine and USA, the “Rapid Trident” involved troops from Canada, Bulgaria, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Turkey and the UK.

The aim of the series of the exercise “Rapid Trident” is the introduction into the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the best practices of the armies of the leading countries of the world, the exchange of skills, improving the level of cooperation between headquarters and units of the land forces of Ukraine, USA, the armies of the participating countries and partners of NATO, as well as members of the program “partnership for peace”.

During the first week of training, soldiers from different countries who took part in command-staff phase has fulfilled a number of tasks for the preparation of the operation and management units to accomplish the tasks assigned to them.

At the same time, the training areas of the polygon tactical units of the armed forces of Ukraine and the member countries improved their knowledge and skills to implement the basic elements of the conduct of hostilities in armed conflicts of modernity.

Subsequently, during the active phase of the exercises on different parts of the landfill tactical units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other countries have carried out training and combat tasks under diversified scenario, and an unexpected introduction.

The soldiers practiced, in particular defensive actions in various settings, studied to effectively counter hostile reconnaissance and sabotage actions, provided the airdrops, were on duty at checkpoints, patrolling and escorting.
