In Kiev, I accidentally discovered a unique mummy

Unique items has hit the capital over two hundred years ago.

In the collections of the National Kiev-Pechersk historical and cultural reserve have discovered ancient Egyptian mummies.

About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of culture of Ukraine.

Valuable artifacts were found at the beginning of the year, during the reconciliation of funds. According to preliminary data, they were in Kiev at the turn of XIX-XX centuries.

The collection of antiquities of Ancient Egypt first was kept in the Church and archaeological Museum and then the Museum of atheism on the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. For several decades the unique items were in the facility.

In addition to the two mummies in the collection found two painted sarcophagus and a few Knopov – funerary vessels of internal organs.
