In accordance with recently published court documents, employees of SBU and the national police of Kiev has arrested several suspects who are on the basis of the recreation centre of the national Institute were engaged in illegal mining of bitcoin – the world’s most popular digital currency.
The case has been made public on 8 August, after the publication of the decision of the Svyatoshinsky district court of Kyiv. According to the document, the production of cryptocurrencies was carried out illegally, bypassing the Ukrainian legislation.
Employees of national police and security service, tracked down the alleged illegal manufacturer of digital money, has traced the exact location of illegal equipment for mining cryptocurrency, which later was converted into Fiat funds were transferred to Bank accounts of fictitious companies to cash out. According to the data, the defendants placed in an idle pool “of rehabilitation center of the Institute of electric Paton” 200 computers for mining bitcoins.
