In the capital of Ukraine Ahmet lives with his 9-year-old son less than a year and asks for political asylum.

“21 Oct, about 18 hours in the apartment Zhanar Ahmet turned off the lights when she went out into the corridor to see what happened (because in the house the light was), she was approached by two men in plain clothes. They claimed to be employees of the Ukrainian police, while the documents are not filed,” – said the lawyer of the detainee.

As he says, the journalist suggests that it was law enforcement officers from Kazakhstan who disappeared after Ukrainian police arrived.

“Employees of national police received information that supposedly at this address, there is a man hiding from law-enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan and is in the international search through the Interpol”, – said the lawyer.

Also the defender of the journalist argues that he was not given any information about what case and when his client was declared wanted.

As you know, Zhanara Ahmet fled to Ukraine from Kazakhstan in March 2017. At home against it has filed several cases which it considers to be politically motivated.
