In the capital unveiled the monument to Elena Teliga.
Today, February 25 in Kiev was held the opening of the monument to the outstanding figure of the OUN, the poetess Elena Teliga and her companions who died for the independence of Ukraine.
Inauguration of the monument took place on the territory of National historical memorial reserve “Babi Yar” (metro station “dorogozhychi”).
According to our correspondent, the opening was attended by the mayor of the capital Vitaly Klitschko, Minister of culture Yevhen Nyshchuk, as well as public and political figure of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko.
It is worth noting that the monument by all the canons sprinkled with Holy water.
“Now, this place is overwhelmed with different feelings. You can even say that the opposite feelings. On the one hand, today we remember the tragic events which occurred exactly 75 years ago, when in February of 1942, this place was killed and Elena Teliga and her husband, and to this day, have killed hundreds of Ukrainian patriots,” – said Nyshchuk.
