Hubertus: hotel with swimming pool of the species in Italy.
Glass panel mounted in the base of this cantilevered pool, designed by Studio NOA Architecten, gives swimmers the feeling that they are floating in the air.
Dvadtsatimetrovy pool built for a hotel Hubertus is a hotel for skiers and hikers in the Italian province of South Tyrol. It is located at the foot of mount Kronplatz and its attractions include scenic views of the Dolomites.
Submitted on 17 meters from the facade of the rectangular structure rises 12 meters above the ground, supported by mighty trunks of larch trees with peeled bark. The pool is placed within a larger structure, and has slightly raised edges, not the sides, which would cover the landscape; the front part is limited to an inclined glass wall. Hidden edges of the pool, hidden in a frame of stone, anthracite, bridge the gap between it and the surrounding landscape, giving the impression that the water flows directly to the air, and glazed opening in the lower part of the structure reinforces this feeling of flying between heaven and earth surrounded by mountains.
The pool is part of the new building to existing hotel Hubertus. In order to unify the appearance of new and old buildings, the architects have designed their sloping larch trunks. The undulating facade of the building is framed with semicircular balconies with perforated metal railings. The new building includes a fitness room and a relaxation room, as well as 16 rooms, furnished in Chalet-style wooden interiors.
