In Horishni Meadowlands Poltava region, the city authorities decided to restore the symbols of the Communist regime.
This reports the press service of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory.
In particular, we are talking about the restoration of the stele with the former name of the city of Komsomolsk, located at the entrance to the city.
The local government instructed the municipal enterprise “Specal” to produce the missing elements (the letters C and M) for appropriate recovery of the stele. The decision of the city Council from the local budget allocated 8 thousand UAH.
According to the Institute, on July 3, symbols of the Communist totalitarian regime in the form of the stele was restored at the entrance to Horishni Marshes.
In this regard, the Ukrainian Institute of national remembrance have sent an appeal to the Prosecutor General, the Chairman of the SBU and the head of national police with a request to investigate the illegal actions of the city authorities.
