The farmer, processing field, dug up a fragment of ancient statue
The Greek farmer, cultivating his field, discovered a fragment of ancient statues soon on his plot of land found three fragments of statues and a few graves.
Archaeologists from the middle of October were excavated near the Central Greek city Atalanti, 150 kilometres North-West of Athens. Excavations began after a farmer found the torso of an ancient Kouros – statues of young men – and reported it to the authorities.
The Ministry reported on Saturday that, in General, was found four large fragments of limestone statues of a young man in natural size and triangular base for the statue.
The fragments consisted of the torsos, and the largest was even with his head.
In addition, it was found seven graves of several unidentified finds. Probably, they were part of a large cemetery.
