Physicians assume that it was a suicide attempt.
A car crashed into a group of people at a bus stop in the city of Recklinghausen in the North-West of the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. In the incident one woman was killed and eight people were injured varying degrees of severity.
The accident occurred at about 14:50 local time. According to witnesses, a car suddenly flew into the oncoming lane and then crashed into a bus stop.
At the scene working ambulance crews, firefighters and police. The police said that there is reason to believe that the driver deliberately ran over a bus stop.
“There are signs of a possible suicide attempt,” – said the press-Secretary of police Ramona Hurst.
The area near the bus stop was cordoned off.
