In the heart of Berlin, on the square March 18, beside the Brandenburg gate on Friday set the installation “Monument” in protest against the war in Syria.
“This is an important message to all, it is a monument against war”, – told the author, a German-Syrian artist Manaf of Halbouni.
He hopes that in 2 weeks, while the installation will be in the German capital, where many tourists, it will once again attract the attention of people to this war.
This installation is a three set vertically of the bus. They are installed a few metres from the line, which previously held the Berlin wall – a symbol of the cold war, 28-anniversary of the fall of which was celebrated on 9 November.
It is worth noting that in April this year, Halbouni had organized a similar installation in Dresden, in front of the famous Frauenkirche. Then in a wave of protests organized by the anti-Islamic movement Pegida.
Installation is a repetition of the barricades of buses on bombed-out streets of Aleppo, photos of which circled the world.
Halbouni was born in 1984 in Damascus, his mother is a native of Dresden. He left Syria in 2008.
