In the night of Friday, January 6, German police arrested five suspects after a fire that occurred in one of hostels for refugees near the city of Paderborn (Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia) in the West of Germany.
According to one version, put forward by police officers, the suspects, who also lived in the Dorm, inadvertently could set fire to mattresses in the building. As previously reported, on 5 January in Germany, burned a refugee camp. The accident injured 60 people. One person was seriously injured, 30 people were hospitalized with suspected smoke inhalation.
More than 20 refugees received necessary medical aid on the spot. The fire started in the premises of a former military barracks in the afternoon.
Later in the evening firefighters were able to extinguish the flames. According to the report, the hostel is home to about five hundred asylum seekers.
