The accused, according to investigators, used personal funds and raised money in social networks.
German authorities arrested a Russian citizen on suspicion of funding terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia).
“He was arrested yesterday. We are talking about 35-year-old citizen of Russia”, — said the representative of the Prosecutor’s office of Munich. According to him, the same day the decision was made to arrest the suspect.
The man is accused of funding ISIS through their own funds and money collected in social networks.
On 25 October last year it was reported that the German authorities suspected 13 Russian citizens in the financing of terrorism. Police carried out searches in 12 apartments in Thuringia, Hamburg and North Rhine-Westphalia.
