In woodland near the mountain village of Khakhabo in Tusheti (Kakheti region, Eastern Georgia), where just a few days ago it was completely eradicated a major fire on the evening of Friday, re-emerged the fire.
According to the Agency for management of emergency situations, Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia, in the fire zone are several dozen firefighters with the technique, which has already managed to localize the part of the fire hearths, however, the new fire suppression compounded by the complex mountain terrain and wind.
According to authorities, the works on localization and liquidation of fire in Tusheti will continue all night.
Forest fires started in Georgia in August due to the dry summer. The largest of these occurred in the South of the country in Samtskhe-Javakheti – Borjomi gorge, where supposedly burned 100 hectares of forest, a large wooded area, adjacent to an Alpine resort Abastumani. In extinguishing the fire Georgia was helping Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Iran.
