In Geneva has officially begun the inter-Syrian negotiations, with the support of the United Nations.
The Syrian government and the Syrian opposition met at the same table in the framework of the opening ceremony of the negotiations. The Agency notes that this was the first time in three years.
The UN special envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura, who spoke with the greeting of the parties noted the progress in negotiations made in the meetings in Astana.
However, he stressed that much remains to be done on the way to the final peaceful resolution of the Syrian conflict.
Earlier the UN security Council welcomed a meeting in Astana, the talks between the Syrian authorities and the opposition and called as soon as possible to resume discussions under the auspices of the UN.
