Sunday, April 23, in France held the first round of the presidential elections, for participation in which has registered 11 candidates.

It is noted that the best chance to reach the second round, scheduled for may 7, have the leader of the political movement En Marche! (Forward!) independent candidate Emmanuel macron, and the leader of nationalist party national front, marine Le Pen, which is opposed to European integration and advocated the policy of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In the four most popular politicians also included the representative of the center-right party the Republicans françois Fillon and the leader of the extreme left Jean-Luc Melason.

48 hours before the completion of the first round on Sunday, France has banned the election campaign, in particular, and publications on the election theme in the French media.

In connection with the terrorist threat candidates canceled their public events planned before the election.
