“According to Egyptian security officer, 14 police officers were killed during a firefight with insurgents in the South-West of Cairo,” the statement reads.
According to the publication, the exchange of gunfire occurred on Friday in the al-Wahat al-Bahrija in the Giza governorate, about 135 kilometers from the Egyptian capital.
It is noted that eight other security personnel were wounded in the attack. No terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
