The design was produced using a 3D printer.
Killa Design Studio undertook the construction of the world’s first fully equipped and designed for ongoing use of an office building made using 3D printing technology.
The office of the Future, which housed the Fund of the Future Dubai is located in the centre of the largest city of the United Arab Emirates and consists of separate modules, printed on 3D-printer. The construction of the building marks the beginning of implementing this year’s strategy for the development of industrial 3D printing Dubai, aimed at improving the lives of people in the field of construction and medicine.
The whole design was made with the 3D printer, whose height is 6 meters, length — 36 meters width — 12. The device has a robotic arm that can carry out the printing process, which lasted for 17 days, after which the installation of the building on the site took two days. The work on installation of internal communications, as well as interior and landscape design lasted about three months.
Office complex revolves around a leafy inner courtyard, which is a cafe. A few connected volumes is the gallery for exhibitions, events and seminars, flexible space for collective brainstorming and a few small meeting rooms for peace of mind. The layout of the building has been designed in order to encourage creative interaction between different experts and combine the tranquil thoughtful work and casual, spontaneous meetings.
The project is a precursor to the Museum of the Future, which is also developed by Killa Design. It’s all part of a long-term national development programmes “the Future of the UAE”, which aimed at turning the country into the world’s largest incubator of innovative technologies.
