In the press center of the ATO headquarters said in Facebook that on may 18, during the humanitarian operation on the temporarily uncontrolled Kiev territory of Donbass, the separatists fired at employees of mission of the International Committee of the red cross (ICRC).
It is reported that the attack happened during a planned distribution of food and hygiene kits in the village Dolomite. Several bursts of gunfire were in close proximity to people and vehicles. It is noted that no one was hurt.
The press service said that the investigation and accounting logs violations of the cease-fire showed that the shelling of the red cross took place on the part of illegal armed formations from the territory of the Donetsk region uncontrolled by Ukraine.
The staff notes that machine-gun fire of the place of distribution of humanitarian aid “carried out with the aim of discrediting the Armed forces of Ukraine, spreading panic and fear among the local population and representatives of the ICRC”.
“The Ukrainian side of the JCCC strongly condemns the actions of the separatists and qualifies as a gross violation of international humanitarian law”, − stated in the message.
