In Denmark, sank the world’s largest private submarine UC3 Nautilus, which in 2008 due to the collected on kraudfandingovom sites means was built by local resident Peter Madsen.
That the submarine disappeared in the evening of 10 August, according to The Associated Press.
To search Danish Navy was attracted by two helicopters and three lifeboats. First, the sailors reported that a half-submerged submarine drifting in the area South of Copenhagen, but later said – it sank.
Aboard Madsen was saved. The circumstances that led to the incident are unknown.
“A small problem with the ballast tank turned into a big trouble… the Sub sank in 30 seconds,” – said the captain.
UC3 Nautilus, which could carry up to eight people, was the highest (known to authorities) private sub weighed 40 tons with a length of about 18 meters and width of 2 m.
