Two people died and another eight were injured in an explosion at a chemical factory in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region in Northwest China, reports China Central television.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on one of chemical plants in the County Changji. It is reported that the explosion occurred in the workshop for the production of calcium carbide.
To date, two people were killed and three people seriously injured, five escaped with minor injuries.
Works on liquidation of consequences of the emergency have been completed.
