As noted in SBU, the security services of the Russian Federation persuaded the man to cooperate with threats.
The security service of Ukraine detained in Chernihiv region the man who gathered information for the Russian intelligence services for the purpose of conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.
“Residents of the border village in the past three years unofficially worked on construction work in Moscow and Moscow region as a “migrant worker.” During another visit to the Russian Federation, a man was detained by representatives of FSB of the Russian Federation, which led him to the tacit cooperation, threatening criminal prosecution for illegal employment”, – told in SBU.
The FSB took the detainee a written commitment of cooperation, and assigned the pseudonym for conspiracy.
So, on the instructions of curators he had to get intelligence information about the number of personnel and equipment of military units located on the territory of Chernihiv region near the border with Russia.
In addition, he was required to collect information “about protection of the state border of Ukraine, placement of military facilities” and “sensitive data about employees Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.”
As reported, the information needed to convey to the representative of the Russian special services during visits to the territory of the Russian Federation, and in case of refusal of assignments or appeals to the Ukrainian law enforcement bodies, Ukrainian were threatened with reprisals against his family.
“While under psychological pressure, the man began to collect information, however, was caught by employees of Ukrainian special services. Open criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 111 (high treason) of the Criminal code of Ukraine”, – added in Department.
