In a turbulent region, there are many people who want to remain part of Spain.
In Barcelona, thousands of Spaniards came out to protest against the referendum on the independence of Catalonia.
They stand for the unity of Spain and against the scheduled for Sunday, October 1, the vote on the separation of Catalonia.
The protesters wrapped themselves in national flags and pulled a large flag over their heads. They chanted “don’t let them fool you, Catalonia is Spain”. The participants also called on regional President Carles Pokdemon to resign.
The crowd went to the Gothic Palace, which houses the headquarters of the Catalan government.
Earlier today it was reported that the Spanish police took control of 2315 1300 schools, in which the day of the referendum must be placed polling stations.
