Britain will make it easier to get a residence permit for EU citizens
The British government intends to allow citizens of member countries of the EU living in Britain, to remain in the country after its secession from the Union. About it reports Reuters referring to the statement by the Minister on the question of EU exit David Davis.
According to the plans of the authorities, for EU citizens for two years after Brexit will operate a simplified mode of obtaining permanent resident status.
“We have made clear that the protection of the rights of EU citizens is our priority in the negotiations. We will support anyone who wants to stay to obtain a residence permit thanks to a new simplified system,” said Davis.
The application fee will be equal to the fee for obtaining a British passport. In addition, applicants will have the right to appeal in case of refusal.
