In Brussels gathered representatives of the six countries and EU institutions.
In Brussels on Friday opened a summit of “Eastern partnership” with participation of heads of institutions of the European Union and the six countries participating in the program. The participating countries of “Eastern partnership” the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip.
The EU at the summit will be represented by European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, head of the foreign service Federica Mogherini.
This is the first year in Brussels has invited President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, but he refused to go.
Ukrainian delegation is headed by President Petro Poroshenko. He has already met with Tusk and the king of Belgium, who spoke about his unofficial trip to Kiev.
European Commissioner for European neighbourhood policy Johannes Hahn said recently that the leaders of the countries-EU members and Eastern partners close to agreement on a Declaration of the EAP summit. However, it is not denied that the agreement document encountered problems.
On the eve of the summit the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that Kiev does not expect adoption of important political decisions, but hopes to expand investment and financial assistance.
