[b]One of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition, Nikolai Statkevich was arrested for 5 days.[/b]
This was told by his wife Maryna Adamovich in an interview with “Radio Liberty”.
“In early August, the court ruled that “the arrest in absentia” Statkevich for 15 days. Thus, it is unknown how long the opposition leader will remain in custody”, – is spoken in the message.
It is noted that on 9 August the court sentenced Statkevich to administrative detention for 15 days on charges of participation in an unsanctioned rally on 3 July in Minsk. Then, the Day of independence of Belarus, about two hundred people came out to March against the joint exercises “West-2017”. The opposition leader also urged supporters to come out in protest in early September.
