The young thief was arrested.
Traffic police in Australia have arrested a 12-year-old boy, who wanted to drive across the country.
According to detective Kim Fehon, the child took the family car and left. The parents immediately reported it to the police and law enforcement officers began to search.
It turned out that the boy planned to travel 4 thousand miles to Perth, which is on the West of the country.
“The driver was a 12-year-old boy who went from Kendall to Perth,” – said in a statement to the police. It is also known that the boy was arrested, but later released.
The police still finds out why the boy took the car and tried to go to Perth.
Apparently, he will be charged in accordance with the law on juvenile delinquents for three transgressions, including failing to pay for petrol and for driving without a license, police said.
Travel from Kendall to Perth by car, it would be a grueling, 40-hour ordeal crossing the whole country through the harshest deserts in the world, including the plain Nullarbor where in the scorching heat no one survives, in addition to local animals and shrubs.
Official tourism website of Australia advises visitors to plan six days for a trip through Nullarbor, on the highway, known for its smooth path through the barren desert.
