In Myanmar found a piece of amber, which stiffened the tail of a dinosaur.
Paleontologist Xing found on the amber market in Myanmar, a unique find in a piece of amber the size of less than 4 inches of frozen tail of a prehistoric animal.
Reported by the journal Current Biology.
The seller believed that piece of amber with a diameter of about 3.6 cm frozen patch of some plants. He was further polished for jewelry processing. Later microscopic analysis and computerized tomography showed that in fact it is the tail of a prehistoric animal.
8 Dec 2016 published an article with study results. Scientists came to the conclusion that a fragment of the tail belonged to the young Raptor. In size it was comparable with the Sparrow, but to fly, most likely, could not.
Further investigation showed that the tail belonged to a prehistoric bird, was originally supposed to be a feathered dinosaur. Rather, he stuck the tail in the resin and died, as there is no evidence that dinosaurs were able to drop their tails, as do the modern lizards.
