Since 2011, the specialist worked in the biathlon Alberta training center
Former team Canada coach Richard boruta was killed in an accident in the mountains.
It is reported by the international biathlon Union (IBU).
“Boruta was known as a humble, but very experienced trainer with a soft voice and style accompanied by a brilliant smile that inspired his players to a successful season. IBU and the whole biathlon family expresses deepest condolences to the family of Richard, his friends, students and all canadian biathlon”, – reads the statement of the IBU.
Note that boruta has worked with team Canada in 2002 and 2006. He led the “maple” at the Olympics in Turin in 2006. Before going to the canadian national team, Richard coached the youth team of Austria. Since 2011, the renowned expert has worked in the biathlon Alberta training centre.
49-year-old mentor is survived by his wife Camila and their three sons – Michael, Thomas and Lucas.
