It is assumed that the phenomenon may be associated with mutations in the genes age fathers.
Boys born to middle-aged couples often grow up to be highly intelligent, extremely passionate about their ideas and interests. About the study the American and British scientists reported in the journal Translational Psychiatry.
To such conclusions researchers came after analyzing the data of eight thousand British twins.
Children under the age of 12 passed tests for nonverbal intelligence, the ability to focus on objects and social exclusion.
Then for each child was calculated his “index of geek” (geek – passionate people). The analysis showed that for children of fathers younger than 25 years, the index average is 39.6, age 35-44 – 41, and for fathers older than 50 years increases to 47.
In this case, this dependence is observed only in boys.
It is assumed that the phenomenon may be associated with mutations in the genes age fathers, so that such men themselves, long remaining bachelors, to acquire the traits of geeks and pass them to their sons.
