The driver was drunk – he faces up to 8 years of imprisonment
A traffic accident that occurred in the Zhytomyr on the morning of 15 August, occurred on the Industrial street and claimed the life of 28-year-old woman.
About it reported in Department of communications of the police in Zhytomyr region.
“Dorozhno-transport incident happened on August 15 at about 9.20 on one of the streets of the regional center. As a result of collision of VAZ-2101 with the DAF truck was lost 28-the summer passenger of the car, two people were injured”, – informs the police.
“According to preliminary information, the driver of the car VAZ-2101, moving along the street Industrial, has not coped with management, resulting in collided with a DAF lorry parked on the roadside. As a result of collision the passenger of the car, 28-year-old resident of Zhytomyr, died at the scene. Another two passengers of this vehicle, 1984 and 1985, was hospitalized with injuries of varying severity”, – informs the Department of communication.
According to police, the driver of VAZ after a collision left the scene. Police patrol within an hour detained the man at the place of residence. During medical examination it was established that he is in a state of alcoholic intoxication (1.6 ppm).
“On the scene worked investigative team GUNP and Zhytomyr city police Department, the patrol police, rescuers and physicians. The event information included in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety or transport operation by the persons operating vehicles) the Criminal code of Ukraine. The issue of the detention of the driver of VAZ in order St. 208 criminal procedure code (detention authorized official). He could face 3 to 8 years of imprisonment “, – informs the police.
As reported in social networks speaker GUNP in Zhitomir area Alla Vashchenko, the dead girl and the driver of VAZ met just hours before the fatal accident.
