In a new video showing the development and modifications of the sports sedan, which is available since 1985.
On the YouTube channel Cars Evolution published a new video. In a four-minute video shows the development and modifications of the “charged” sedan BMW M5, which for 32 years was replaced by six generations.
The movie starts with showing the sedan E28 index, released in 1985. The first BMW M5 was powered by a 3.5-liter inline “six” power of 286 HP and is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The motor allows the car to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. And achieve maximum speed of 250 km per hour. At the time it was the fastest production sedan in the world.
The video ends with a BMW M5 sedan the sixth generation, which debuted in August of this year. The main feature of novelty was the all-wheel drive system with multi-disc Central clutch, rear differential and the ability to completely turn off the front axle.
The new BMW M5 is equipped with the upgraded 4.4-litre V8 unit with two turbines, issuing 600 HP and 750 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with eight-speed automatic transmission.
The sedan is able to dial first “hundred” for 3,4 sec. and acceleration to 200 km/h takes 11.1 seconds. Maximum speed force is electronically limited at around 250 km/h and with the sports package M Driver’s Package the maximum speed is 305 km per hour.
