The world’s largest atomic aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) performed high-speed turns in the Atlantic ocean.
The ship was at sea after a major renovation, which lasted four years.
Dramatic video of sea trials of the aircraft carrier was published on the official YouTube channel of the U.S. air force.
Repeated high speed rotations are performed in order to check the maneuverability and stability of the carrier after the repair.
The aircraft carrier was launched in 1988. It belongs to the class “Nimitz”. Displacement of the vessel is 97 thousand tons, it can simultaneously carry 90 aircraft and helicopters.
