The Swedish trading network IKEA has granted a franchise to open in Ukraine, according to “Gromadske” with reference to the press service of the company.
“We announce that the franchise for Ukraine are really given, but we have no exact date for the opening of the trade network”, – stated in the message.
The owner of the concept and brand is IKEA Inter IKEA Systems B. V. in the Netherlands. With every IKEA store in the world is the franchise agreement. The biggest franchisee is the IKEA group of companies.
Earlier this week, the Director of “Mandarin Plaza” Alexander Chernitsky announced plans for its chief Vagif Aliyev to build a large shopping center in place of the Ice stadium in Kiev. The anchor tenant is supposed to be IKEA.
In 2013, the study of GfK Ukraine showed that Ukrainian consumers do not have enough stores of IKEA and Pizza Hut restaurants.
