Ice Palace in Madrid was turned into a morgue for the dead from coronavirus

In the Spanish capital ice rink, located in the shopping center, was converted into a morgue to store the bodies of the dead from coronavirus. As writes The Local, the ice Palace, designed for 1.8 thousand visitors, is located close to the Ifema exhibition centre, where deployed a hospital for infected COVID-19.

The publication notes that funeral homes will work with the victims of the coronavirus, because their employees are not protective suits. They will continue to work with the bodies of people who died for other reasons.

The number of people infected with coronavirus COVID-19 and died of virus disease Spain ranks second in Europe after Italy. According to March 23 the country has recorded more than 33 million people infected and over 2 thousand deaths. In Spain there is a quarantine until April 11.

In Madrid the number of infected exceeded 9.7 thousand people. Spanish experts noted that the virus is spreading in their country faster than in Italy.

The situation in Italy is quite sad. As reported on March 23, over the weekend it died of coronavirus almost fifteen hundred people.
