Hunting on uncleared cars in Ukraine: what to expect “Peresechenie”

Question a car with Euronorm plan to resolve at the legislative level.

The issue of vehicles with foreign numbers will be resolved at the legislative level.

The people’s Deputy of Ukraine Maxim Kuryachii told reporters.

The MP recalled that the Committee on taxation and customs policy, in conjunction with members of the public, prepared a Memorandum on the problem of owners of bonded vehicles with foreign plates.

“There is a clear political will to resolve this issue. Was the initiative to sign the Memorandum of mutual understanding and common action, in order to work together to amend existing legislation. We are talking about all cars that were imported using court transit or temporarily imported and are foreign numbers. They must be registered with the relevant state authorities, and must travel on the roads of Ukraine for state registration. And customs clearance, and the first state registration needs to happen with some features that are today”, – said M. Kuryachii.

He also noted that the Committee is willing to reconsider the question of time of import, the year of manufacture of the machine.

“If we take into account all environmental leverage. Excise rates can also be reviewed in accordance with our legislation. They were below, we have agreed that we will make the appropriate amendments to the Customs code of Ukraine, which will make it impossible to use in the future, these transit schemes for tax evasion. Agreed, agreed, but with dialogue, these people were (social activists who picketed the Parliament – ed.). But we still will resolve this issue at the legislative level”, – he stressed.

He also noted that it is proposed to reduce the excise tax, but not exempt from it.

“Because then all mobile phone owners will also want to low price. Excise rates for imported cars and other goods can be reduced, but at this stage, the experts of the budget process needs to know where to take revenues from other sources to implement the increase of pensions, repair of roads in Ukraine, social programs. We invite everyone to a constructive dialogue”, – added the MP.
