Hungary complained about the billions of dollars in losses due to anti-Russian sanctions.
European sanctions against Russia are ineffective and should be abolished, said the foreign Ministry of Hungary.
This was stated by the foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Siyarto.
“The position of Hungary in relation to sanctions is that they are ineffective,” he said, noting that in 2014 the Hungarian economy has lost because of sanctions, export opportunities worth $6.5 billion.
“Should we rejoice in the decline of the Russian economy? No, we are sorry about that,” said Siyarto.
In addition, he noted that it does not consider Russia as a threat.
“I don’t see Russia as a threat for Hungary. I understand and respect our Polish friends, friends of the Baltic have a different stance on this issue. Russia will not attack NATO. I don’t think it is in the interests of Russia”, – said the Minister.
