In Hungary, announced terms for settlement of the situation around the Ukrainian law on education.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siarto requires the preservation of the rights of Ukrainian Hungarians and their consent to changes in the law on education, according to the website of the foreign Ministry of Hungary.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siarto during a meeting with foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin and US special envoy in Ukraine with Kurt Volker discussed ways of an exit from a conflict situation which has arisen around changes in Ukrainian legislation on education.
“First, the Hungarian minority cannot be deprived of any of their rights,” said Szijjártó.
The second condition is referred to as the agreement of the Transcarpathian Hungarians to changes in the legislation on education.
The Minister said that once these two conditions are fulfilled, the Hungarian government will not prevent Ukraine.
“While both conditions are not fulfilled, unfortunately we can’t talk about resolving the situation,” – said Siyyarto.
