The US President Donald trump has arrived in the Philippines, where he will participate in the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
During his visit, trump met with the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte.
Before the visit of President of the United States a number of American deputies and human rights activists urged him to meet Duterte to discuss the tough measures taken by the Philippine authorities in the fight against drug traffickers. From June 2016, when Rodrigo Duterte took office, during police operations against drug trafficking were killed about 4,000 people.
The summit in Manila there were also politicians from other countries outside ASEAN, in particular Russia, Japan, Canada, India and China.
In the ASEAN, formed in 1967, includes 10 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia.
