Unusual photo project from Stan Raucher.
Public transport can be a great place of the catalyst of the social sphere of society. Regardless of the city, you can see people of all kinds and all walks of life on a bustling morning. It is also possible here during trips to aesthetic pleasure: from the interiors, design and the amenities and design. Photographer Stan Raucher decided to explore the subway in many cities around the world.
Photographer Stan Raucher took his first pictures in the Paris metro in 2007. Since then, he began to photograph passengers in cities around the world — from Shanghai to London. Instead of glamorous photos, Racer shows a typical day in the life of these cities: what people are wearing, how they interact, and, of course, as the interiors of public transport systems are similar around the world.
His new book, “underground: scenes from city life” contains over 50 photographs, giving viewers the opportunity to peek inside more than 15 different transport systems.
Photographer Stan Raucher says: “I started doing candid photos of people in public places in 2006, and I made my first photos in Paris as I traveled around the city in 2007.”
The main source of inspiration Stan Raucher for himself considers the interaction of people in the subway.
Photographer Stan Raucher says: “People in the subway often lost in thought, and not for someone not paying attention.” “Although there are some differences in the behavior of the passengers in different cities, it always seems that the similarities generally outweigh the differences”.
