Honda Odyssey gets a mild makeover

The Honda Odyssey minivan went through a mild refreshment to 2021 and received a restyled grille and front bumper, as well as additional standard safety equipment.

Among the novelties also the reminder of the rear seats, which can be combined with an optional camera system that allows you to check the back seat on the screen of the infotainment system.

Despite the fact that the segment continues to fall, Honda and some brands still see the minivan key models for attracting and retaining customers, especially young families, even though the prices of some high-end models reach $50,000.

Odyssey has been a bestseller No. 2 among minivans in the U.S. market in 2019, behind the Dodge Grand Caravan and ahead of Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles refused Grand Caravan, which was one of the firstborn on the segment from the beginning of the 1980s, but Toyota has improved its Sienna for 2021.

Updated Odyssey, which will appear at dealers since Monday, is now equipped with folding into a nearly flat surface the second row of seats, creating more space for Luggage, according to a press release from Honda. Additionally, the seat is easier to clean. Trim levels EX and above received a restyled seats and a tri-color rugs.

New reminder system for the rear seat warns the driver with an audible signal to check the back seat before leaving that can be connected to the optional review system salon CabinWatch. In this case, the camera overhead shows on the screen of the infotainment rear seat in real time.

Camera system provided with the trim levels and Touring Elite now allows to do zoom and got night vision.

For the 2021 model year prices from dealers on the base model, the LX trim is increased by $1,000 to $32,910. The top-end trim now starts at $48,940.
