The company Honda unveiled a prototype humanoid robot-rescuer — model E2-Dr.
According to The Verge, the robot is able to climb stairs and ladders, work in the rain, stepping over obstacles, pass through narrow spaces (like doors), to navigate uneven surfaces and to move at a speed of 4 kilometers per hour.
The new model, humanoid robot E2-DR, was presented at the IROS conference 2017 in late September in Vancouver.
E2-DR is equipped with several cameras and a rotating torso. It helps him to explore the area for signs of danger.
The robot is able to withstand changes in temperature, equipped with a special cooling system and is not afraid of water (thus, E2-DR could run in the pouring rain for 20 minutes).
The prototype is still being refined. About when will be the final, upgraded version of E2-DR, the company said.
