The Japanese showed the European version of the model CR-V with a hybrid power plant.
The company Honda unveiled a pre-production prototype of a hybrid version of the new CR-V crossover for the European market. Public premiere of the SUV will take place in mid-September at the Frankfurt motor show, the press service of the Japanese brand.
Part of a hybrid power plant includes two-liter petrol “four” working on the Atkinson cycle, two electric unit. One of them, acting as generator, is connected to single speed transmission, which “provides a constant sensation of power and high torque”.
The power plant can operate in three different modes — solely on electric, only used by the internal combustion engine, as well as in a combined cycle.
In Europe, the new Honda CR-V will start at first offered with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine, a modification to a hybrid setup will be available later. According to preliminary data, sales of new items will begin in mid-2018.
