The incident occurred at the airport in San Francisco.
The biggest disaster in the history of modern aviation almost happened in San Francisco, dispatchers were able to prevent the collision of five aircraft.
At landing the passenger plane of airline Air Canada flying from Toronto, was mistakenly sent not to the runway and taxiway, which at the time were still four liner.
Dispatchers managed to stop the pilot. The plane landed safely at the second attempt. No one was hurt.
“If this is true, the incident was very close to the biggest crash in history,” the channel quoted a statement of a retired captain, aviation, United Airlines Ross Aymer.
The airport authority and local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
