Guillermo Del Toro gave a grim explanation of his love of monsters

You love the works of Guillermo Del Toro or not (I personally lean towards neutral, not really interested party) – and that is still alive in the Director is the personality cult, to doubt is not necessary. And in a recent interview with Variety, Del Toro briefly but succinctly described the reason for his love of monsters.

I started loving monsters, when I realized – as a child, when meeting with the monster does not have to think. Adults who have to be nice to you, can behave roughly. Adults who should protect you, beat you. But the monsters usually do just based on their appearance. If you swim with a fucking creature from the Black lagoon, then you’re definitely going to die.
