Groysman: Ukraine will increase the minimum wage

The increase in the budget.

The head of government said that in 2018, the budget includes raising the minimum wage to 3700 hryvnia.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman said on air of ICTV on 4 December, in the year 2018 provides for the growth of the minimum wage population, the average level of wages in the country should be brought to ten thousand hryvnia.

“The next year, 2018, we envisage the increase in the minimum wage by 500 UAH 3 thousand 723 of the hryvnia, which is already provided in the budget”, − said Groisman.

According to him, the greater the increase in the minimum wage is only possible with the acceleration of economic growth.

“Of course, we want more, but that much will be possible only when the national economy will be able to develop more dynamically and to consider such a decision I think we will be able in 2018,” – said the Prime Minister.

He also added that today the average salary in Ukraine is UAH 7,400.

“I am convinced that our main task next year is to bring the average salary in the country up to at least ten thousand hryvnia,” − said the head of government.

Earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the minimum wage in Ukraine should be increased to 4100 UAH.
